Development Squad

 

 

Our Development Squad continues to work on the bases already put in place from the junior development squad.

With an increase in pool time swimmers begin to really train all distances and start to compete at a higher level with both short and long course competitions throughout the season.

The focus on training is still skills development along with aerobic and endurance based training but swimmers will also learn more about other areas such as goal setting, nutrition and hydration which are needed to help them progress into more rounded age group and performance athletes.

Swimmers in this squad should be aiming to get into Scottish Swimming District Regional Programme (DRP )national squad.

Weekly Pool sessions = 5-6

Weekly Land Sessions = 1

Total Weekly Training Hours = 11

 

Competitions - Districts, Level 1 and 2 meets, Fife Leagues and Club time trials

 

Kit required - Swimming cap, goggles, water bottle, kick board, pull buoy, fins, snorkel and hand paddles
