Susan Taylor - Head Coach

Susan has coached for the past 10 years, starting out whilst studying at University before moving to West Dunbartonshire Swimming Club, where she developed her skills and completed her 2 coaching qualifications.

Susan worked her way up to the position of  Assistant Head Coach for her last 3 years at the club, helping many swimmers achieve Snags, British and Scottish Squad times.

Susan moved back from Dubai to join Carnegie as Head Coach early 2020 and is working alongside the Executive Committee to help the club develop and she is excited to see what the future holds for the club.

Susan's aims for the swimmers in her squad and the Club:

  • Create a strong team culture throughout the whole club
  • See more swimmers achieving EDAGS, SNAGS and Summer meet times
  • Have more swimmers achieving Scottish Squads times
  • For all swimmers to enjoy the sport, create good friendships and learn skills that they can use in every part of their life.

Gary Hallam

UKCC Level 2 in Coaching Swimming, UKCC Level 2 in Teaching Aquatics

Gary began coaching at Carnegie in 2008 when his daughter began to swim competitively with the club. Since then he has coached the Sharks, Orcas, Development and Performance Development Black Squads.

As well as coaching with Carnegie Swimming Club, Gary also teaches swimming for the Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, so is certainly "at home" at Carnegie Leisure Centre you might say. In his spare time (what spare time haha?) Gary might be found out cycling on his bike.

Gary aims for all swimmers to enjoy their swimming, work hard and to be the best they can be at their sport.

Kay's aims for the swimmers in her squad

  • Enjoy Training and Swimming
  • Put swimmers on a pathway for their future progression within the Club
