19th February 2020 - Susan Taylor Joins as Head Coach

We were delighted to welcome our new Head Coach, Susan Taylor to a Sharks training session on 19 February. Hopefully you managed to say Hello!

Susan began her coaching career in 2013 by working part time at her local club whilst finishing her degree in accounting at Strathclyde University. Moving to West Dunbartonshire in 2014 allowed her to coach part time and teach Learn to Swim lessons and lifeguarding. In 2017 she became the Assistant Head Coach of West Dunbartonshire Swim Team where 6 of her swimmers were part of the Scottish District Regional Programme.

Susan has come to us from Dubai where she was Head Coach with Pool Academy Aquatics. We are sure that Susan will enjoy her time at Carnegie Swimming Club and help the club and our swimmers be the best they can be.

Before arriving, this is what Susan had to say…

“I believe in developing a strong inclusive team culture throughout and working with every swimmer to reach their potential. I will be developing a clear squad criteria and progression pathway and working closely with all coaches to make sure that each swimmer is getting the training and attention they need to reach their potential whilst being happy and engaged in the sport. I will also be holding regular parents’ information evenings so that parents can learn more about the club and how they can help their children continually progress. I look forward to working closely with the committee and coaching staff to keep growing Carnegie SC as a highly competitive club both in the East District and within Scottish Swimming as a whole. I will be striving for excellence in everything that I do with the longer term aims to have more Carnegie SC swimmers into the Scottish National Squads, more swimmers staying within the club and sport and a great family club who supports everyone.”
